Fisheries Control Regulations: Traceability and consumer information requirements
European fisheries control measures were reviewed and consolidated under Commission Regulation 01224/2009 with further implementing measures provided under Regulation 404/2011. This applies minimum labelling and information requirements throughout the supply chain both up to retail and to the consumer. It does not apply to fishery products imported under IUU regulations nor those that fall under the CN16 customs tariff heading. This document provides guidance on the application of these requirements within the seafood sector. -

This interim report is submitted to Seafish as part of the assignment titled ‘A review of the services provided by Seafish in relation to the UK aquaculture industry’. The preparation of this report represents Deliverable 3 of the assignment. The structure and content of the report is based on previous agreement between the contractor and the client as presented in the inception report. The contractors seek review, comments and approval from Seafish on this interim report. -

Towards a National Development Strategy for Shellfish in England_Executive Report
In order to formulate a National Development Strategy for the Shellfish Industry in England, the Defra Inshore Fisheries Working Group and Seafish commissioned a preparatory Work Programme of 12 tasks. This report describes the results for six tasks that were assigned to the consultant, Dr R C A Bannister, an expert on the management of the capture shellfisheries and their stocks. Information was supplied by Dr N C H Lake, who has extensive knowledge of the UK shellfish industry and who also interviewed the Sea Fisheries Committees (SFCs) and various members of the industry.
